South West pumps prepare for fuel deliveries

Petrol stations in the South West are included in a list of filling stations "designated" by Trade and Industry Secretary Stephen Byers under the Energy Act to be supplied with fuel first. The garages will be the first to be supplied with any fuel for sale to the public which manages to break through the blockades of oil refineries and depots, said a DTI spokeswoman. The news of a fuel breakthough comes as police report eight fuel thefts in the Bristol area, with a further eight incidents in Somerset.
